Recently I have started attempting to improve my networking, so far I have signed up to a number of social networking sites; including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Ashbourne People to name a few.
In addition to this I have tried to join a number of local groups including WiRE. The thing is with most of these resources they can take a while to take effect. So the rewards from these wont be reaped for a long time some may say why bother then?
My response to this is yes they will take a while but it is worth it, long term. In the current economy I am willing to try anything that may work and in a consultancy networking is essential. Plus word of mouth is a great reward for networking.
