My daughter is almost 3 and we are potty training her there are days when she does really well and others where it's not so good. It seems that if I remind her every so often to go to the potty then she is able to do really well. However when left to her own devices with no prompting from me it seems to go pear shaped.
Some people think it's because she gets engrossed in the activities and so forgets about going to the potty. Another theory is that we are trying to undo 2 years of teaching her that it is ok to wee and poo in her nappy. I think it is also about her learning to recognise the signs for when she needs to go.
I have a reward chart for her so we can track her progress and provide her with incentives to learn this skill
