Uni or no uni?

Just lately been considering transferring my OU degree to a mainstream uni degree however there are a few things to consider:
  1. Can I afford it?
  2. What about childcare?
  3. Have I got the right qualifications to get in?
  4. What about my business?
  5. Can I cope with it all?
Having spoken to people who like the idea they have said as long as I am organised then I can juggle it all and be fine. They have also said that I will have more of a social life and that yes I need to look after the kids but I also need to do something for myself too.

Those against the idea have said that I will get myself into a load of debt for a qualification that I wont use. That I will be classed as a mature student and the majority of those on my course would be school leavers who have no responsibilities and so aside from the fact we are on the same course that I would have very little in common with them. They also claim that my business would go under because I wouldn't be able to spend as much time on it and that the kids would suffer too because in between lectures, assignments and the extra reading etc I would have to do I would have less time for them.

As you can tell there are more reasons for me not to go than there is for me to go. At present I am undecided however I will continue to explore the various options available to me and then once I have all the information then I can make an informed decision and what is the best course of action for me, the kids and my business.
